Privacy Policy

1.Information processed on your device

ProtiGram uses information you enter to calculate and display nutrition estimates. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

• age;
• sex selection;
• target weight;
• activity level;
• nutrition or fitness goal;
• dietary preference;
• calculated protein targets;
• foods and portions entered; and
• recent progress history.

This information is processed locally on your device. It is not sent to us or stored on our servers.

To provide features such as saved preferences, daily entries and progress charts, some information may be stored locally by the App on your device.

2.Information we do not collect through the App

ProtiGram does not require an account.

We do not collect through the App:

• your name, email address or phone number;
• your precise or approximate location;
• device or advertising identifiers;
• contacts, photographs, camera or microphone data;
• Apple Health, HealthKit or other health-record data;
• payment information;
• browsing or search history outside the App;
• advertising information; or
• behavioural profiles.

ProtiGram does not use third-party advertising or tracking services.

3.Analytics and diagnostics

ProtiGram does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs to monitor how you use the App.

Your device or app-store provider may separately process app-download, device, performance or diagnostic information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control the information independently collected by those providers.

If we later introduce analytics, crash-reporting or another feature that sends information away from your device, we will update this Privacy Policy and any applicable app-store privacy disclosures before doing so.

4.Device and cloud backups

Depending on your device, operating system and backup settings, information stored locally by ProtiGram may be included in a device or cloud backup.

Those backups are controlled by your device or operating-system provider. We do not control them and cannot access, recover or delete information held in them.

You should review your device provider’s privacy and backup settings if you do not want App information included in a backup.

5.Deleting local information

You can change or remove locally stored information by:

• editing entries within the App;
• using available reset controls; or
• deleting the App from your device.

Deleting the App normally removes its locally stored information. Copies may remain in a device or cloud backup until that backup is replaced or deleted under your provider’s policies.

Because we do not receive your locally stored App information, we cannot access, correct, recover or remotely delete it for you.

6.Contacting us

If you contact us directly, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as:

• your email address;
• your name, if you provide it;
• the contents of your message; and
• technical details or screenshots you choose to attach.

This information is not collected through ProtiGram’s nutrition features.

We use correspondence only to:

• respond to your request;
• investigate a problem;
• improve or protect the App;
• protect our legal rights; or
• meet a legal obligation.

We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and then delete it when it is no longer required.

Please do not send detailed medical records or other unnecessary sensitive information in a support message.

7.Selling and sharing information

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Because information entered into ProtiGram is not sent to us, we do not disclose that information to:

• advertisers;
• data brokers;
• social-media platforms;
• analytics providers; or
• other businesses.

Information sent directly to us in correspondence may be handled by the service providers used to deliver that communication, such as our email provider. We use such providers only as reasonably necessary to operate our communications.

We may disclose correspondence if required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect someone’s safety, prevent unlawful activity or protect our legal rights.

8.External links

ProtiGram may contain links to government guidance, research publications, food-composition databases and other external websites.

When you open an external link, the external website may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Its own terms and privacy policy will apply.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

9.The ProtiGram website

ProtiGram’s product and legal pages are hosted on the 9to3lab website using Squarespace.

Squarespace may process technical information when you visit these pages, such as IP address, browser information and cookies, under its own privacy terms. Other 9to3lab website practices are outside the App’s on-device processing described in this policy.

If website analytics, contact forms, mailing lists or advertising tools are added to the ProtiGram pages, this Privacy Policy should be updated to describe them.

10.Children

ProtiGram is designed for adults aged 18 years or older. It is not intended to calculate nutrition requirements for children or adolescents.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

If you believe a child has sent personal information to us directly, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

11.Security

Because ProtiGram information stays on your device, its security depends partly on the security of that device.

We recommend:

• using a device passcode or biometric lock;
• installing operating-system security updates;
• controlling access to device backups; and
• taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information held by your device, backup provider, email provider or another service outside our control.

12.Access, correction and privacy requests

We cannot provide access to or correct information stored only on your device because we do not receive it.

You can edit or remove local information through the App or by deleting the App.

To request access to, correction of or deletion of information you have sent to us directly, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify that the request relates to you before acting on it.

13.Overseas processing

ProtiGram does not transfer your locally stored App information overseas because that information is not sent to us.

Our website, email or platform providers may process technical or correspondence information in other countries. Their privacy policies describe their processing locations and safeguards.

14.Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to ProtiGram, our practices or applicable law.

The updated version will display a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice through the App, its store listing or our website.
